Hi,my name is Wendy Pritchard, I have started this wesite for actually several reasons, one My husband , Two
for others to let their favorite medic know just how special they are, three to maybe work on some issues like pay raises
for our mississippi paramedics, and four so that if someone needs to just let out some steam or discuss a bad call.
Okay Now my number one reason my husband he has been in the EMS field for about twenty years, we have been married for
14 years and have four beautiful daughters. I guess this idea came to me because I see the situations he faces and being an
EMT myself I know the emotional struggles that he has to deal with, He doesn't seem to think he's good at what he does but
let me tell you something this man he knows what he is doing there is just about nothing that he does not know regarding EMS.
For years my grandfather was my idol, mentor, hero and when he passed away I thought I will never look to anyone like that
again but then I met Richard and guess what he is all the above and I am proud of him and that's what this site is about telling
our medics that we are proud and thankful for all they do. In this line of work you may think what you do goes unnoticed but
it doesn't I see it in my girls eyes when they look at him or when they tell their friends my daddy is a paramedic, and I
feel it inside when I see him in action.
I got really upset after the world trade center bombings because there was so much talk about the firefighters and policemen
that lost their lives, but not a word about the paramedics and when you see pictures what do you see ambulances buried under
the ash and rubble, I am not trying to take away from our officers or firefighters because they are important to but our paramedics
they risk their own lives to and for very little pay and then not even a single thank you.
I remember when my husband was working out of Louisianna and his partner and himself recieved a call to an unresponsive
male in a ditch off the side of the road, upon arrival the man was not breathing, no pulse, Richard's partner said he didn't
believe anything could be done but Richard begged to defer and you know what he was right he worked hard and the man
is still walking today, the word spread quickly about what Richard had done of course my husband makes a good name for himself
anywhere he works as a medic, but let me share another thing, I am about to give birth to our second child having some complications
well needless to say when she started to arrive there wasn't a doctor to deliever ( keep in mind I was at the hospital in
the delivery room) so Richard and the nurse was what I had, he caught her cut the cord but something was wrong she was blue
and I mean as a smurf instead of panic which in normal circumstances the father would have I know the nurse did but Richard
took her and he got her to breathing and her heart started needless to say our little girl is soon to be 11. To me that took
alot of control being as it was his child and she was dead. This is my medic but I share him with Mississippi. And I AM
PROUD OF YOU AND THANK GOD FOR YOU EVERYDAY. And to my darling husband you are a true hero to me and this profession
is lucky to have you, I pray thanks to the lord above for the day he brought you into my life.
